Your Sacred Spaces

We are officially one month into spring, and today is a day of celebration for many people. The holy holidays of Easter and Passover converge this year. It doesn't happen every year like this. I know plenty of friends and family who will be celebrating each of these today. I also know plenty of people who don't celebrate these holidays and yet, are taking this weekend to be with family and friends.
Celebrations of this nature open a door for reflection. A time to re-visit the lights of hope that sprinkle like stars in our lives. Sometimes we see the hope. Sometimes we don't. It is when we don't see the hope, that we crave it even more.
Today, after these holy and heartfelt celebrations, we will return to our routines. To the flotsam and jetsam of life. To pursuits we love. To days that challenge us. As those days run on, we get swept up in their currents. We don't even realize we are overtaken. It is on those days that we owe ourselves sacred spaces. For we are, by our basic nature, sacred beings.
As this day of delight, celebration, and renewal comes to end. Take a moment and select a sacred space for yourself. It doesn't need to be fancy, or large. It only needs to be a place or way for you to take a pause in life, and come home to your best and truest self. Choose heartfully, let it be a place or way, that you can return to again and again. For you have traversed many things and are deserving of sacred celebration.
To each of you who celebrate deliverance and rebirth this day. Happy Easter and Passover to you. To those of you celebrating new seasons and family. Happy Spring to you.
To all of us, may we appreciate our sacredness.
What a wonderful and heartfelt and important blog, Carrie. Thank you. I am sending you an extra special hug this day in appreciation for your love and sharing. Sacred space is all around us and in us, but sometimes we forget to notice. Thanks for the remembrance and the heads up.
